A lively overlay of wooden Carpenter's Gothic board-and-batten siding, decorative bargeboards, and molding tracery window caps lend a pretend Gothic appearance to this originally T-shaped Greek Revival farmhouse. Greek Revival elements include the wide entablature with windows in the metopes of the frieze and the entrance surrounded with ample boards and side and transom lights. Believed to have been built by Daniel Williams, son of Benjamin Williams, who was one of the two brothers who settled Owosso in the early 1830s, the house and 240 acres in Vernon Township were purchased by agriculturalist William N. Cole in 1876 and held in the Cole family for thirty-two years.
