A more permanent structure than most ephemeral juke joints, this simple front-gabled structure launched the career of Indianola’s native son B. B. King and hosted many jazz and blues musicians, including Count Basie and Albert King. Beginning in 1977, the board-and-batten front room expanded with corrugated-metal additions: a small room on the front, and four rooms at the rear.
