A. Hays Town designed the poured-in-place concrete building, which is now the county archives building. Its form illustrates his interpretation of the austere PWA Moderne style, which was favored for many Great Depression-era public buildings. It features barred-sash windows, those to the rear collected in horizontal, recessed bands, and incised signage and ornament.
