This monolithic concrete two-story former waterworks building is in a Streamline Moderne style, which lingered in popularity in Mississippi into the early 1950s. The projecting two-story central office block dominates the symmetrical composition, its curves emphasized by the flowing diamond-patterned frieze and glass block at the entrance and corner windows. The one-story wing to the west with concrete Roman lattice vents shelters the water holding tank and rows of stacked concrete aerators. When it opened, the waterworks processed up to 1.5 million gallons of water per day. After years of vacancy, restoration work began in 2014 to bring the building back for community use.
