One of several Las Vegas homes designed by the architectural firm of Rapp and Rapp, the Milton Taichert house was one of two that merchant brothers Milton and Joseph Taichert purchased after they arrived in Las Vegas in 1908 and 1909. The Taichert house blends the Queen Anne and Shingle styles into an asymmetrically picturesque yet nicely balanced composition that contrasts a formal (and generously proportioned) front porch with a corner polygonal bay on the second floor and an off-center central gable above. Its lot measures 75 by 147.5 feet, with the 40-foot setback typical of North New Town.
