The town of Apollo grew around this log house, which was occupied until the 1970s, when the Apollo Area Historical Society purchased it. They replaced the decayed logs at the base with logs from the same period, and rechinked the entire house. The interior, initially three rooms with a ladder to the loft, has been altered to one large common room with a pull-down ladder. The fireplace was completely rebuilt using some original stones. Water is carried from a recently rebuilt springhouse to the west. The house is named for longtime resident Mrs. Sarah Drake.
