This secluded residence, visible from the road only in winter, is midcentury modernism at its best. The house is a surprise: instead of the lacework expected from Stone during the 1960s, it is a delicate glass box projecting from a hillside above a rubble stone courtyard wall, a return to the ideas expressed in the architect's earliest work.
