Eyre's charming Georgian Revival banking house for the Borie Counting House, a private banking office, was part of the resistance of the old elite to the movement of the banking district to the new downtown near City Hall. Here Eyre re-creates the Colonial Revival in a mannered late Victorian mode, downsizing its mass as he super-sized its details.
