Another of the superb country houses on the avenue, its elegant front building was built in 1805 in the delicate Adam mode with carefully dressed ashlar and a delicately carved cornice that proved that Germantown was not far removed from London. A pre-1740 colonial farmhouse serves as the rear wing.
