The Hewitt brothers designed the quintessential institution of elite Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Cricket Club, in 1883. The original building was demolished, but Kennedy, Hays and Kelsey's Ladies Clubhouse—a bit of lemon-chiffon fluff in frame and clapboard—survives, as does George T. Pearson's elegant
