The Fischer-Burgard house is located in a neighborhood of frame houses known as the Isle of Que, which originally was a riverfront village. It is reached from Pine Street in the center of Selinsgrove, crossing Penns Creek on a triple-arched steel bridge and passing under U.S. 11 / 15. Front Street parallels the Susquehanna River. The central-hall house is graced by Federal details, including a fanlight above the paneled door and double gable-end chimneys, and like other German houses, it has a datestone—May 31, 1824. The house and its farm are also visible from U.S. 11/15 just before the turnoff to Selinsgrove.
