This typical one-and-one-half-story Greek Revival house is a fine country version of the style. In this instance the entablature treatment under the eaves and over the recessed, sidelighted door is particularly prominent. The plain pilasters which flank the door and corner the elevation may seem a trifle thin for the visual weight of the eaves entablature and the entrance lintel. What they lack in girth, however, they almost make up for in the gusto with which the capitals flare to take the assertive cornice at the roof and the projection of the lintel over the door. The provincial builder often grasps a style by exaggerating certain of its salient features.
