Edward Brayton House

-A A +A
1937, Albert Harkness. 554 West Main Rd.

Although the overall form of the Brayton house is vaguely indebted to the rural French models that this Providence architect used throughout his career, by the late thirties Harkness characteristically modulated tradition with the kind of Moderne nuance evident in the casement windows and the spandrel panels which connect them between the two stories of this house.
