Although somewhat altered, this middle-class residence gives a nice sense of a prevalent type of late Victorian gable stickwork which has been too rarely preserved. The eaves of the gabling project deeply on simple prop brackets, with board-and-batten ornamentation of the attic. In the apex of the front gable is a fan of strutwork and, in the same location on the side, a pierced screen. The propped and cross-braced elements forming the porch combine structure and ornamentation in a most straightforward manner.
