William F. Fahnestock House (Oaklawn, Bois Doré)
This house with a rather severe limestone facade, atypical for Platt, was built for a New Yorker in a French eighteenth-century revival style with hipped, dormered roof, ornate entrance surrounded by floral carving, and decorative window treatments. In typical fashion for this neighborhood, Bois Doré is somewhat overpowering on its relatively small parcel of land.
