Set in a grove of moss-draped trees, this is a two-story, central-hall-plan house faced with a two-story veranda incorporated beneath the side-gabled roof. It conservatively perpetuated into the last quarter of the nineteenth century a house type more characteristic of the second and third quarters, although the two-over-two sash windows betray its later date.
