Isolated on its site, the core of this one-story, clapboard-surfaced raised cottage is a three-bay square block with a low-pitched hipped roof and an attached front veranda. Rising from the crown of the roof is a square second-story cupola, capped by its own pyramidal hipped roof. Rather than a front door framed by windows, the house has a large-scaled, central, shuttered sash window framed by two doors. Gable-roofed wings project from the west side and the north, rear, face of the house and incorporate linear screened porches. The charm of this house derives in part from the contrast between the geometric precision of its core and the more relaxed feel of its wings.
