Native limestone was hand-cut on-site for this Gothic Revival, Greek cross–plan church. The two towers of unequal height and mismatched design make a picturesque scheme. Architect and supervisor Hyer was a physics professor at Southwestern University, where he also designed Old Main (see BT27).
