Simons, a San Antonio architect, collaborated with Stephenson on the design of this one-story, buff brick–faced elementary school. The Beeville Elementary School is architecturally unassuming except for the entrance portal, which Simons and Stephenson detailed with an opulent cast-stone Baroque frontispiece borne by twisted columns, an echo of the elaborate cast-stone work on Simons's major institutional commission of the 1920s, Temple Beth-El in San Antonio ( SA93).
