This high raised cottage with its front veranda inset beneath a hipped roof is another mystery house. Historian Ellen Beasley believes it may have been moved to this site, or perhaps repositioned on the lot, around the time the property was occupied by marble cutter John Moser in 1885. The cottage possesses an evocative profile, testifying to the incremental additions made to its back side. The traditional Galveston sidewalk of crushed oyster shell is maintained here; walking on it yields the smell of the Gulf.
