Best known for large-scale commercial projects in Mexico City, Barcelona, and Bilbao, Mexico City and Houston architect Enrique Albin designed this house for Mexican clients transposed to the suburban town of Bellaire. Although occupying a much larger and flatter site than would be customary in Mexico City's Lomas del Bosque neighborhood, this two-story brick house preserves a distinctive sense of Mexican modernity in its detailing of materials and the ease with which it opens to its site. Nearby at 701 Mulberry Lane is a self-effacing but rigorous and precise modern house and studio of 1988 by Victor Lundy.
