2001, Curtis and Windham. 3808 Inverness Dr.

This house was built on three house sites in the Tall Timbers section of River Oaks. Based on the eighteenth-century Pavillon de la Lanterne in Versailles, it is an H-plan house of concrete frame construction, faced with cut limestone. The house is only one room deep; interior spaces feel intimate rather than over-bearing. Parisian architect Laurent Bourgois designed the interiors. The gardens are the work of New York City landscape designer Deborah Nevins. Across the street at 3737 Inverness is Taft Architects' postmodern de-construction of a columned Georgian house of 1993.
