The two houses on this lot are considered to be among the oldest in Fredericksburg. The simple one-room log house set well back from the street was constructed by Friedrich Pape, one of the original settlers of 1846. The larger three-bay L-plan limestone house placed on the front property line was constructed by Burchard Dangers, the second Protestant minister to arrive in the new town.
