This is the first of two major houses built for the Dilworth brothers, another sibling architectural contest ( SF17). Here the house is classical in style as opposed to Queen Anne. The paired giant order columns of the front porch are atypical, but the overall character of the house indicates the trend toward monumental classical forms in early-twentieth-century houses. This sort of formal grandeur was a logical choice for its banker owner.
