Commercial Buildings

c. 1920, Milton W. Scott and Company. 906, 920, and 924 Austin Ave.

These three buildings are almost identical in form, as they each served as automobile showrooms along Austin Avenue and provided service areas to the rear. The Central Motor Company Showroom (906 Austin Avenue) shows how versatile Scott was in designing a special-use commercial building, repeating in form but not in detail the adjacent buildings. All three of these unusual buildings have managed to survive into the twenty-first century, adapted for other uses.
