A cemetery for the Seminole Scouts and their families, including the graves of four who earned the Congressional Medal of Honor, is about a mile from the Fort Clark site. The cemetery is owned and operated by a nonprofit group of descendants of the Seminole Scouts. Graves at the site vary widely. Some have white marble military headstones that were installed with government support in 1940, while others feature locally made crosses or sculptures, and still others are simple mounds of dirt with pressed-metal markers.
