The thirty-five-room Hotel Lembert was the first hotel in Fort Davis. The hotel has two-foot-thick adobe walls, oak and pine flooring, and beaded-board ceilings, all original. In addition to the hotel, the carriage house and bathhouse still exist on site. The hotel was built near the stage route established earlier as the Butterfield route (along current Fort Street), and its early guests included Comanche Chief Quanah Parker.
