Commercial Building (McNatt Motor Co.)

The J. P. “Punk” McNatt Motor Co. that once housed Greenville’s Olds and Cadillac dealership is located on the former site of the Hunt County Jail. Aluminum-framed storefront windows wrap the building on two sides. Pink and salmon-colored porcelain enamel panels create a modernist frieze that also comprises a signage band. Resting upon the corner of the building is a fluted tower, tiered like a wedding cake, which once supported a prominent neon sign for the dealership. Although now occupied by a furniture store, the original “J. P ‘Punk’ McNatt Motor Co.” red lettering survives.
