This two-story Carnegie-funded brick library features a projecting portico with paired Tuscan columns, a central entrance crowned with a pediment, and a hipped red tile roof. Pilasters in tawny-colored brick frame two-story arched windows with recessed spandrels. The bronze Sterne Family Fountain by sculptor Giuseppe Moretti (1857–1935), cast in 1913 by the J. L. Mott Foundry of New York, stands in the center of the street intersection in front of the library.
