Fannin County Museum of History (Texas and Pacific Depot)

The long, red brick depot, combining passenger and freight facilities, was a duplicate of the depot built by the Texas and Pacific Railway (T&P) in Weatherford, which was designed by railroad employee Lang before he formed his partnership with Frank O. Witchell. Originally completed in 1900 to replace the earlier wooden depot, the structure burned in 1918 but was rebuilt in 1919 to its first appearance. The hipped roof with bracketed eaves is interrupted by a tall tower with three arched windows, corner piers, and a pyramidal roof. The depot served passengers until 1950 and freight until 1958. After use as a warehouse, it was donated by the railroad to the Fannin County Historical Museum Society in 1976.
