This two-story house, located south of the Texas and Pacific Railway tracks, was built by Charles White and his two sons and is the oldest surviving house in Odessa. The materials of its construction, including red brick for the walls, beaded board for the ceilings, the moldings, and turned stair parts, were transported by railroad. The next owner, Oso William Pool, enclosed porches and made other additions, converting the house into five apartments during the 1927 oil boom. Donated by the Pool family to Ector County, it has been operated by the nonprofit White-Pool House Friends as a special event space.
