Croatian immigrants Michael Kangerga and his brother Rade settled in Henderson in 1887, operating a cotton brokerage, oil-leasing, and banking business at 104–106 E. Main Street. This large Queen Anne house’s front gable of the cross-gabled roof is trimmed on three edges to form a pediment, with a small Palladian window in the center. A one-level porch supported on small Ionic columns wraps the octagonal corner tower, with a pediment over the front door.
At 514 N. High is the Thomas and Nancy Walling Log Cabin (1841), moved here in 1982 from its original site about ten miles north. The square-notched log construction is covered with later board-and-batten siding.
