Old Customs House (Little Sandwich)

-A A +A
Little Sandwich
c. 1805, 1934. Virginia St. (near the waterfront)

Although named for a royal customhouse that stood in Urbanna in the 1760s, this brick house appears to be of later date, although it may use materials from the earlier structure. A good surviving example of a vernacular house, the brick structure, laid in Flemish bond, has one exterior and one interior chimney.
