Grace Episcopal is a plain, one-room brick structure in a Greek Revival temple form that reflects the influence of Baptist churches on Episcopalians. Except for its single entrance door, it might be mistaken for a Baptist-built structure. A slave gallery still exists on the interior. A painting of the Ascension by Arthur Pierson, placed above the altar in 1875, indicates the reorientation of Virginia Episcopalians toward more elaborate display.
