Jefferson Hotel Parking Facility (Second Baptist Church)
If Thomas Jefferson used the Maison Carrée in Nîmes, France, as his model for the capitol, just a few blocks away, the architects of this Baptist church were perhaps more faithful to the ancients in their handling of the fluted Corinthian columns and the overall proportions and detailing. Now part of the Jefferson Hotel complex and used for parking, this building is a significant city landmark that awaits a new use.
