Throughout most of the nineteenth century, Hebrew Cemetery served as the final resting place for much of Richmond's Jewish community. The monuments, which are oriented to the east in accordance with tradition, are generally restrained in ornamentation. Of interest is the Neo-Gothic chapel of 1916.
