Seminary Avenue, which runs north-south to Azalea Avenue, comes to an abrupt halt in the 3400 block where it collides with the campus of Union Theological Seminary in Virginia and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education. In 1895 Lewis Ginter and associate Joseph Bryan invited the seminary to relocate to their envisioned suburb of Ginter Park from the Hampden-Sydney College campus near Farmville, Virginia. The Presbyterian seminary was given the development's choicest nine-acre tract.
