Cedar Knoll survives on part of a stranded section of the old Williamsburg Road, which was replaced by U.S. 60 in the mid-twentieth century. The one-and-one-half-story I-house is frame with weatherboard and has a narrow east addition. It sits on a raised basement that helps give it a prominent image. Cedar Knoll is adjacent to the Savage Station Battlefield, and the house served as field hospital during the Civil War. The property also features a barn that may date from the nineteenth century.
