The first house built on the Pilot Block, the neoclassical Carrington House is more sophisticated than the later Baker House, though it is not as elegant as Manson's later houses. Its bow front, exaggerated flat arches, and triple windows distinguish it. The remainder of this block exhibits elaborate porches, many of cast iron. The ironwork on 2312–2314 was saved from other demolished buildings and placed here in 1965.
