On the south side of old courthouse, this two-story brick building with barred windows has a hipped roof with a centered roofline pediment featuring a bull's-eye window. An elaborate brick stringcourse encircles the building at the second-floor level. Although lacking in the characteristic bold spirit and massing of Romanesque Revival, the Clerk's Office nevertheless has features of the style, including the three pairs of round-headed windows on the second floor and the rough-faced stone lintels above the first-floor openings.
