This three-story building incorporates elements that became popular in Harrisonburg in the following decades: a stone facade at street level, square-headed second-story windows, and round-arched third-story windows. Hipped dormers rise from the gabled and hipped roof and the corner entrance is canted. The stone plaque at the building's top now reads “Ruddle,” but originally was inscribed to the first owner, A. M. Newman, president of Rockingham National Bank, which opened here in 1900.
