This is a relatively rare example of a late 1940s prefabricated-metal house manufactured by the short-lived Lustron Corporation. The one-story, gable-roofed, rectangular house has a steel frame covered in blue enameled-steel panels. A small shed-roofed porch shelters the main entrance that is located on the gable end of the house and tripartite picture windows light the interior. Shipped from the factory in pieces, a Lustron house could be erected in five days. Around twenty-seven hundred Lustron houses were built in the United States between 1948 and 1950 when the Lustron Corporation folded. Three Lustron houses, all in the same block, are located in the City of Norton.
