Standing at the intersection of Front Royal's busiest streets, this is the most imposing church in Warren County. Built of gray rough-cut coursed limestone blocks, the Romanesque Revival church has a monumentality that is softened by round-arched stained glass windows in Art Nouveau-influenced designs in colors of pastel blue, green, and lavender. The church's most impressive feature is the corner entrance tower topped by a polygonal roof and finial. The church was dedicated as the Front Royal Methodist Episcopal Church. The architect, Price of Philadelphia, was responsible, through the Methodist Board of Church Extension, for some five thousand churches across much of the nation. Many of his designs were distributed by mail order.
