Odd Fellow and Rebekah Museum (International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge)

-A A +A
1838. 112 Front St.
  • (HABS)

This Greek Revival building features Doric pilasters extending from the foundation to the broad entablature at the eaves, and Doric pilasters frame the central entrance. The lodge reflects the important role that fraternal orders played in small towns, where men expressed political power, formed business alliances, and fostered middle-class cohesion, and lodges served as social centers and provided services such as funeral insurance.
