Clay County Courthouse

One of the state's newest county courthouses, this red brick structure appears humble in comparison with its predecessor high on the hill across the way. Basically a square, it is two stories tall, but an arcade composed of open segmental arches fronting the Main Street facade makes it “read” as a single story. Side elevations carry out the motif with blind arcades that contain vertical bands of windows.
