This attractive group of stone, log, and frame structures is one of the most individualistic CCC complexes in the state. Close to the highway are a concession stand and a restroom structure connected by a stone retaining wall. The stone and frame concession stand, known first as the “Grille Room,” is a two-part building that contained a covered porch on the second floor for open-air dining. A round sandstone structure houses the restrooms on two floors. Capped with a conical roof with dormers, the building resembles, on a small scale, the keep of a medieval castle. A stone and log picnic pavilion with a fireplace is in a wooded glade at the upper end of the sloping lawn between the first two buildings. A winding path leads up to the museum, sited on a wooded hill. The one-and-one-half-story log and frame building, which houses a collection of pioneer-era items, is set on a high sandstone foundation. One end
