Set in a spacious lawn, surrounded by farm fields, this somewhat blocky Italianate house is embellished with gently segmented window heads, a bracketed cornice, and a varicolored slate roof. A hip-roofed cupola, also covered in varicolored slates, is an unexpected flourish. Inside, original walnut doors, trim, and framing remain. Ira Carper Post built Templemoor, which became the boyhood home of his son, well-known novelist and mystery writer Melville Davisson Post.
