This is the second county courthouse to occupy Courthouse Square in the heart of downtown Williamson. Though nicely detailed and proportioned, it is a somewhat plain-Jane Moderne replacement of an earlier structure, built in 1902–1903 from designs by Frank P. Milburn. The four-story building is faced with Indiana limestone above a dark, polished granite base. Granite also frames the entrance and is used for window spandrels between floors. The recessed top floor houses the jail. Below, stylized, fluted pilasters define the central sections of each facade and support a full entablature.
