According to the WPA guide to the state, this unpretentious law office, serving a later generation of McCoys, is built “of undressed stone of every variety found in the county, arranged in the order in which the stones occur in local strata.” Although the rocks seem to be more randomly arranged than the WPA writer claimed, the small, flat-roofed structure incorporates a phenomenal number and variety of stones in its facade. It comes close enough to being the real McCoy described in the guide.
