In the small village of Welton, in central Clinton County just off US 61 (which goes through the town), is the Welton Roman Catholic Church. It was built in 1910 and presents an early-1900s version of the Gothic Revival style: in this instance the building has a tower-entrance scheme based loosely upon French provincial examples. The building is of brick, with limestone used for the basement and for trim. Although not especially tall, the tower is particularly effective; high pointed gables help to form the transition from the square base to the octagon, and finally to the double-layered spire roof. The figural stained glass windows of the church are particularly impressive.
